Seychelles

A traveler's dream in the Indian Ocean

The Seychelles, a paradisiacal group of islands in the Indian Ocean, are the epitome of luxury, adventure, and relaxation. With 115 islands, stunning white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and lush green landscapes, they offer travelers an extraordinary escape into nature and serenity.

Mahé, the main island, is the perfect starting point to explore the Seychelles. Here, luxurious resorts blend seamlessly with an impressive natural backdrop. The island of Praslin is home to the UNESCO-protected Vallée de Mai, while La Digue enchants visitors with its laid-back atmosphere and some of the world’s most stunning beaches.

This island paradise is an Eldorado for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Its vibrant coral reefs and rich marine life offer unforgettable diving and snorkeling experiences. The Creole culture, reflected in the islands’ cuisine, music, and art, adds an authentic and flavorful dimension to every stay.

The Seychelles are also a dream destination for honeymoons and couples seeking intimacy and romance, with exclusive retreats and bespoke experiences designed for two. Welcoming and inclusive, the islands are equally perfect for LGBTQ travelers looking for a luxurious and carefree escape in total harmony with nature.

Planning your stay in the Seychelles: tips and insights

Beyond the exceptional accommodations featured above, the Seychelles offer a variety of immersive experiences and travel tips that can enrich your journey:

When to travel

The best time to visit the Seychelles is between March and April: the weather is typically dry and sunny, ideal for beach life and outdoor activities. The months of May and June bring lighter rainfall, while November through mid-January tends to be wetter, with heavier showers. July is generally windy, with occasional rain, especially in the early mornings and evenings.

What to see on Mahé

Mahé is more than just luxury resorts. In the south, Anse Intendance offers a dramatic coastline of white sand and crashing waves, a must-visit for those seeking unspoiled beauty. Along this area, you’ll find small, local restaurants that serve incredibly fresh fish and seafood. In contrast, the northern part of the island features mountain hiking trails that reward visitors with sweeping views of the lush landscape. The beach of Beau Vallon, likely the longest on Mahé, is perfect for a relaxed afternoon: popular among locals and travelers alike, it offers a peaceful, welcoming vibe and a few laid-back cocktail bars ideal for enjoying the sunset.

Island hopping to La Digue and Praslin

A trip to the Seychelles would not be complete without visiting La Digue and Praslin, easily accessible via a one-hour fast ferry from the port of Mahé. On La Digue, the standout attraction is Anse Source d’Argent, widely considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. To fully appreciate its magic, it’s worth walking past the first stretch of sand and continuing on foot for about half an hour to reach the more remote, untouched areas with dramatic granite rock formations. Entry to the beach is not free: a ticket of 300 SCR grants access to the park that also includes a small vanilla plantation and a traditional local farm. The island itself is ideal for leisurely exploration by bike or on foot. In the late afternoon, head to the northern part of La Digue for a sundowner at one of the beach bars. Along the way, you’ll come across vegan and vegetarian cafés offering tasty smoothies and light meals, perfect for a relaxed and conscious dining experience.

On nearby Praslin, travelers can visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Vallée de Mai. This ancient forest is home to endemic species and giant palm trees such as the famous coco de mer, offering a quiet, mystical experience for nature lovers.
